Ferdinand Bol was a Dutch painter, etcher, and draughtsman of the Baroque period. As a student of Rembrandt, he developed a distinctive style characterized by rich colors, dramatic lighting, and elegant compositions, becoming a sought-after portraitist and history painter in Amsterdam.
