study guide

approach — 8 steps

  1. step 01

Lightly sketch the basic room structure, focusing on accurate perspective lines.

  2. step 02

Draw the smaller inner structure, paying attention to its placement and proportions within the larger room.

  3. step 03

Sketch the figures inside the inner structure, keeping them simple and proportional.

  4. step 04

Begin shading the room with light washes, establishing the overall value range.

  5. step 05

Add darker values to create depth and shadow, especially in the corners and under the inner structure.

  6. step 06

Refine the details of the inner structure and figures, adding subtle shading and highlights.

  7. step 07

Add the light source and its effect on the scene.

  8. step 08

Add the writing at the bottom.
