technical profile
approach — 8 steps
Prepare the surface with a light wash of diluted ink.
Lightly sketch the basic shapes of the pine tree trunk and branches.
Using a larger brush, apply darker ink to define the trunk and branches, varying pressure to create thicker and thinner lines.
Add pine needles using quick, short strokes with a smaller brush and diluted ink.
Paint the bamboo leaves with a similar technique, focusing on their sharp, pointed shapes.
Add subtle washes of diluted ink around the tree and bamboo to create depth and atmosphere.
Practice calligraphy separately before adding it to the painting.
Add the red seals last.
color palette
primary · black ink · light gray
