  1. step 01

    Prepare the surface with a light yellow wash and let dry.

  2. step 02

    Lightly sketch the basic structure of the bamboo stalks and leaves.

  3. step 03

    Mix a light brown ink wash.

  4. step 04

    Using a fine brush, paint the bamboo stalks with varying pressure to create thickness and thinness.

  5. step 05

    Mix a darker brown ink wash.

  6. step 06

    Paint the leaves using quick, decisive strokes, varying the pressure to create different shapes and values.

  7. step 07

    Add details to the stalks and leaves with a very dark ink wash.

  8. step 08

    Add the red seals in the bottom left and right corners.
