Lightly sketch the basic shapes of the figure and the placement of the calligraphy.
Prepare diluted black ink and a thicker ink for the outlines.
Using a large brush, apply a light wash of diluted ink for the shading on the robe and body.
With thicker ink, define the outlines of the figure and the calligraphy, varying the pressure for thicker and thinner lines.
Add details to the face and hands with fine brushstrokes.
Create the red seals using a small brush and red ink or paint.
Allow to dry completely.
Add any final touches or corrections.
