approach — 8 steps

  1. step 01

Sketch the basic shapes: sun, horizon line, palm trees, and beach contours.

  2. step 02

Block in the large areas of color: red for the sun, blue for the sky, green for the distant land, and yellow for the beach.

  3. step 03

Add lighter blue and white to the sky to create cloud-like effects.

  4. step 04

Paint the palm tree trunks with a light brown/beige color, adding horizontal lines for texture.

  5. step 05

Paint the palm leaves with dark green, using short, choppy brushstrokes.

  6. step 06

Add details to the beach, including small vertical lines for grass and small red and blue dots.

  7. step 07

Outline the sun with a thin line of yellow.

  8. step 08

Add any final touches and details as needed.
