Hilma af Klint was a Swedish artist and mystic whose abstract paintings predate the work of Kandinsky and Mondrian. She created a body of work that explored spiritual and philosophical ideas, often working in secrecy and leaving instructions that her paintings not be shown until 20 years after her death.
