technical profile
approach — 8 steps
Lightly sketch the basic shapes and composition, paying attention to the perspective of the road.
Block in the sky with a thin wash of pale gray.
Establish the main color blocks for the hills and the caravan, using muted greens and blues.
Add details to the caravan, including windows and wheels.
Begin layering the textures of the grass and trees with short, directional brushstrokes.
Add the bare branches of the trees, using a fine brush or liner.
Refine the details of the road, adding shadows and highlights to suggest the ruts and texture.
Add final details and adjust values as needed.

secondary · red-brown · white
Mix muted greens by combining green with gray or brown. Achieve the sky color by diluting white with a touch of gray or blue. Use thin washes for the sky and initial layers, gradually building up opacity.
